Easter with the Eliasons (Spicer clan)

Thanks to Uncle Dave and Liz for reserving a great house near Green Lake Bible Camp for us all to gather and enjoy Easter together. It was so much fun to catch up with everyone.

Ana: 19 weeks

Almost half-way there!  Ana at about 19 weeks along.  She mentioned to me “it’s nice to finally not have to try and suck in all the time.”  There’s got to be something freeing about letting it all hang out…and people actually get excited about it “ooh, you’re pregnant, yay!”

Lookin’ great!

Ana: 14 Weeks

Ana at 14 weeks.  Yeah, kind of at the awkward point where people at work are probably thinking “ok, is she pregnant or does she just need to lay off the ice cream for a while?”

The hardest part of the pregnancy for me (doesn’t that sound lame when a guy says that? this is Peter, by the way) was holding back the news from our friends and family.  Finally being able to tell everyone, though, was AWESOME!

We told Anals parents, Steve and Diane, by writing them an outline of a nursery on graph paper and writing (Next Project: Eliason Nursery – due Sept 27, 2012), and then handing it to them asking for some remodeling help. When they finally figured out that we weren’t really asking for help on a new remodel project (ok, well, may half-asking), they got really excited.

We told my parents, Mel and Barb, by writing them a card addressing it to “Grandma and Grandpa.” I told them that the card is for “Grandma and Grandpa” and they were really confused why I didn’t want them to give the card to my actual grandma and grandpa.  After they finally opened the card and it said “we’re having a BABY” they got really excited.

Everyone’s really excited. We are too.

He-e-e-e-e-e-re’s Ana

A & P + 1

No, it’s not some weird math equation (although, if it were, the answer undoubtedly would be 73).  Ana and I are having a baby!  Ana has seen the doctor several times now, and both she and Baby-E are doing great. We feel so blessed.

In full support of Ana’s pregnancy, I have taken on the burden of eating almost as often as Ana does, just so she doesn’t feel like she’s pigging out all the time.  In turn, I think my tummy is actually growing at a more rapid pace than hers.  Maybe they make “paternity” clothes for guys? I’ll have to check.

Honestly, though. Ana’s tummy is super cute, and she’s handling this pregnancy like a rock star.  She’s going to be a great mom.

Champagne and Sunnies…

Happy birthday, Erik and John. You’re 24 – NOW START ACTING LIKE IT!!

Lol. Totally kidding.

Or am I?

Great day out on the ice south-east of Prior Lake. Mom brought out broccoli cheese soup, hot dogs and champagne to celebrate their birthday. Wow, great fish, Erik! That’s a keeper!

Or is it?

This old house…

Ana and Diane, hard at work remodeling our 1930′s style bathroom! Not that I didn’t love the salmon-colored wall-tile and semi-corroded faucet (on a serious note: the original floor tile WAS pretty cool – sad to see it go, but we are leaving a bit of it behind sealed behind the wall – kind of a time capsule of sorts).
